I love the fall season in Michigan! Mild temperatures, changing tree colors, football games, and “back-to-school” and “back-to-karate” all make for an exciting time of year. Why do karate and school go so well together? They are the perfect marriage of academic and personal development for kids.
Over the years, we’ve found that kids who stay with our martial arts programs tend to do better in school. That’s why we’ve had so many of our youth black belts become valedictorians, leaders, great athletes, and successes in college and beyond. Success in school and adult life takes life-skills such as focus, goal setting, discipline, and confidence. These are the life-skills that we teach – even though kids might not realize it while they are experiencing the excitement of learning awesome physical skills, making friends, and getting in great shape!
At Allen Park Martial Arts Center, we support our schools and their teachers. Life skills and academics go hand-in-hand in building the smart talented leaders of tomorrow. We have a history of working closely with local classrooms to give their students the incentives and skills to achieve their maximum potential – and this fall season is no different. It’s time to get back to school and back to karate –we’re ready, are you?
